The Social Event of the Season
True love and courtship was consummated in a happy wedding, which occured at the catholic church Tuesday. The contracting parties were Miss Annie Janda, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Janda, and Mr. Francis J. Petricka, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petricka, both of this township. Miss Mary Panek, of New Prague, was maid of honor and Mr. Louis Petricka, brother of the groom, was best man. The bride looked lovely in a light blue silk gown, white slippers and a long veil with a wreath of orange blossoms; the groom wore the usual conventional black and a bouquet of orange blossoms.

The preliminary ceremonies began on Monday, and on Tuesday the bridal party and a host of friends, led by Wondra's band, marched from Prochaska's hall to the catholic church, where Rev. F. Pozek pronounced the ceremony which made them man and wife, after which high mass was celebrated.

After the ceremonies the wedding party repaired to Prochasha's hall where they partook of a bounteous wedding feast palate could be gratified.

The afternoon and until next day was spent in songs, dances and other festivities. Excellent music was furnished for the occasion by Wondra's Band.

The bride is a young lady of many graces and accomplishments and a social favorite among her acquaintances. The groom is a popular young man of sterling business qualities and high moral worth.

They will make their future home on his fine farm a mile east of town.

Havorka, Mr. and Mrs. J. Landenberger, Mr. and Mrs. Stecha, of New Prague; Mr. J. Janda, Chicago; Mrs. J. Havorka, Shakopee; Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Wrabek, Le Sueur Center; Mr. and Mrs. Schefcek, of Hopkins.

The following telegram of congratulation was received at noon: CHICAGO, ILL., April 21---96. To Mr. F. J. Petricka and bride: I tender you my hearty congratulations and sincerely hope that your future May be bright and prosperous. Yours truly, Paul Slatinsky.

Wife of Frank and daughter of Frank and Katerina (Novotny) Janda.

Anna married Frank J. Petricka on 21 Apr 1896 in Montgomery, LeSueur, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Agnes, who died at the age of three, and two sons, Frank, who passed away March 25, 1956, and one who died in infancy; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Sefcik and one in infancy and four brothers, Joseph, Frank, John and one in infancy.

Her obituary was published in the Montgomery Messenger, Montgomery, Minnesota on 23 May 1968.
Edward: Edward married Maria Chalupa in 1923. Following her death in 1930, he married Rita Fisher on July 5, 1933 in South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie, his second wife, Rita, in 1971 and one sister, Agnes, and three brothers, Frank, James and Joseph in infancy.
His obituary was published in the Montgomery Messenger, Montgomery, MN on Aug. 22, 1984.
Edward's wife's obituary states that she and Edward were married on February 10th, 1926. Edward's has the year as 1923.
