Emigrated from Bohemia and came to Minnesota 1867.
Of all the pioneers of the Montgomery community whose careers have been sketched in the Messenger in recent years, none has had a more colorful life of one more crowded with action than Joseph Budin of Montgomery. Mr. Budin was born in the village of Val in old Bohemia.
In America he experienced life in various phases during the rugged period of development immediately following the early settlement years. As a farm hand in the days of oxen and grain cradles, as a steamboat hand on the Mississippi, as a pioneer thresherman, his life was active and his contributions to progress were many.
